CENTURIA I · QUATRAIN XC
The Hideous Monster
Bourdeaux, Poitiers au son de la campane,
A grand classe ira jusques u00e0 l'Angon:
Contre Gaulois sera leur tramontane,
Quand monstre hideux naistra pres de Orgon.
Bordeaux, Poitiers at the sound of the bell,
with a great fleet will go as far as l'Angon:
against the Gauls their north wind shall blow,
when a hideous monster is born near Orgon.
THE MASTER SAYS…
This quatrain relates to events that will take place in the time of the Antichrist. The phrase “a huge wave of fury will rise against the French when a hideous monster is born near Orgon” points to a French Pope who will be a tool in the hands of the Antichrist. Translators interpret this quite literally as the birth of a monster, saying: “This is probably like the two-headed child whom Nostradamus saw and described in another book.” He does not see why this… How, in their opinion, could he cause fury to rise against all of France? Michel de Nostredame again becomes upset.
