CENTURIA II · QUATRAIN LXXVIII
The Bloodied Isles
Le grand Neptune du profond de la mer,
De gent Punique & sang Gaulois mesle:
Les isles a sang pour le tardif ramer,
Plus lui nuira que l'occult mal cele.
The great Neptune from the deep of the sea,
of Punic race and Gallic blood mixed:
the isles to blood for the tardy rowing,
more will it harm him than the occult ill concealed.
THE MASTER SAYS…
This quatrain relates to events in the Caribbean islands that will occur in difficult times. Due to the characteristics of this society, cunning, dishonest politicians are the norm for them, and in the time of the Antichrist they will become simply blatantly dishonest. At one fine moment, by their actions they will dig their own grave, and some poorly hidden secrets will surface, plunging some important people into great anxiety. “Of African race and French blood” may refer to Haiti. Haiti is one of the Caribbean islands. The one who hesitates is the American president, who will not rush to react to external aggression. “The islands remain bloodied” refers to naval battles that will take place around the islands. Meanwhile, the islands will ask the United States for protection, and the president will hesitate. Therefore, in a desperate situation, some island leaders will expose certain events involving the American president in such a way that he will find himself in a difficult position, like Nixon with Watergate. Every leader has secrets that can plunge him into this kind of trouble. The whole question is simply to hide these secrets well. These were not forces directly subordinate to the Antichrist, but other aggressive countries took advantage of the situation of imbalance of power in the world. The American president whom Nostradamus refers to as “slow” could well be George Bush. The media constantly pointed to his indecisiveness in countering aggressive situations. In addition, during the Panama invasion there was a rumor that some secret information about him might be revealed. This quatrain could also mean that problems in our own backyard, connected with the Caribbean countries and islands, have not yet been resolved.
