CENTURIA II · QUATRAIN XCVII
The Rose and the Pope
Romain Pontife garde de t'aprocher
De la cite que deux fleuves arrouse:
Ton sang viendras aupres de la cracher,
Toi & les tiens quand fleurira la rose.
Roman Pontiff, beware of approaching
the city that two rivers water:
your blood will come to be spilt near there,
you and yours, when the rose will flourish.
THE MASTER SAYS…
Nostradamus says that it is precisely in this city, watered by two rivers, at the time of the blooming of roses, that is, toward the end of spring, that the Pope will be killed. Several people from his accompanying retinue will also be killed. Nostradamus asks you to find on a map of Europe the city where two large rivers converge, and to try to persuade the Pope to refrain from traveling to that place. He says that finding this city on a map of Europe will be quite easy. Nostradamus says that it is a large city at the intersection of two rivers, so it will immediately catch your eye.
