The Great Theatre
Le grand theatre se viendra redresser,
Les des jettez & les rets ja tendus:
Trop le premier en glaz viendra lasser,
Par ares prostrais de long temps ja fendus.
The great theatre will come to rise again,
the dice cast and the nets already spread:
too soon the first in ice will come to tire,
by prostrate altars long since rent apart.
THE MASTER SAYS…
The words “the great theatre will rise again” do not refer to a theatre where action takes place on a stage, but rather to a theatre similar to the ancient Roman arena with gladiators. He simply recorded all this and now shows me this picture. The place resembles our football stadium, and the people here are truly excited. They have motorcycles and various other vehicles, and they compete in this way. This is happening now. People get injured, but they do not go there for that. He shows me speed tracks. The excitement of the crowd watching the disasters that sometimes occur on speed tracks during crushing competitions resembles the old theatre, the crowds of Romans. He draws attention to how much money is spent and how many different games of chance there are. It is like the gladiator fights of Ancient Rome come to life, with the difference that the participants compete using vehicles. Very much money is bet and lost. The last lines relate to how people will perceive religion. Many religions of your time will decline as people gain the light of knowledge and understanding. This quatrain is metaphorical. In their time people worshipped Jesus on the cross. This symbol will no longer be used in the future, because it is too terrible. People will decide that it is barbaric to look at suffering and death. This symbol will cease to be used in the religions of the future because of its negativity. It represents death, destruction, pain and despair, while spiritually we are all eternal. So this quatrain represents the death of the image of the crucifixion. It is the cessation of worship of the crucifix, especially Jesus on the cross. There is a serious connection between the two themes: religion has become part of the masses, and the masses desire entertainment, as in Ancient Rome. This quatrain shows that the people are given mass religion and mass spectacle. This is a picture of our world at present. People have not yet understood that the only path of spiritual growth is the individual path, and to find their meaning of being, a person must look within himself.
