CENTURIA III · QUATRAIN XLI
The Assassin’s Aim
Bossu sera esleu par le conseil,
Plus hideux monstre en terre n'apperceu,
Le coup voulant crevera l'oeil,
Le traitre au Roi pourfidelle repu.
A hunchback will be elected by the council,
no fouler monster ever seen on earth:
the intended blow will burst his eye,
the faithless traitor to the King lies sated.
THE MASTER SAYS…
This quatrain is about the last Pope. He is not actually a hunchback, but he has problems with curvature of the spine and with his legs. Nostradamus says that he will be in league with the prevailing majority of materialists and will sharply squander Europe. He tries to show me something. It looks like the Pope is making a state visit. What will happen is that a shot intended for the Pope will kill a king, a president, or someone else in power. They wanted to kill the Pope, but they killed a high official from the government — a president or another ruler.
