CENTURIA III · QUATRAIN LXXXII

The D-Day Swarm

Freins, Antibor, villes autour de Nice,

Seront vastees fort par mer & par terre:

Les sauterelles terre & mer vent propice,

Prins, morts, troussez, pilles, sans loi de guerre.

Freins, Antibor, towns around Nice

will be wasted sorely by sea and by land:

the locusts by land and sea, the wind favorable,

taken, dead, trussed, pillaged, without law of war.

This quatrain relates to the events of World War II. It mentions two cities, but in general all of France suffered violence from Germany. The additional meaning of these two anagrams refers to some major, similar victories in the Pacific Ocean. Translators figured this out quite well. They thought it was a military invasion of France. But this does not apply to all quatrains, so he tries to clarify everything as much as possible to bring the greatest benefit.
