The Routed Giant
Le camp plus grand de route mis en fuite,
Guaires plus outre ne sera pourchasse:
Ost recampe, & legion reduicte,
Puis hors ses Gaules du tout sera chasse.
The greater army put to flight by defeat,
scarcely further will it be pursued:
the host re-encamped, and the legion reduced,
then out of the Gaules it will be wholly chased.
THE MASTER SAYS…
All this relates to the United States and events of the recent past. France’s agreement with NATO will be broken with us when we begin to have economic difficulties. He says that this quatrain concerns how we were the greatest warring nation on earth, but humble Vietnam showed us that a giant can be defeated. This quatrain describes how America suffers because of Vietnam. Here it says that they will be completely expelled from France. In the near future France, by issuing a directive, will not allow our air bases and our nuclear weapons on its territory. ADDED: In 1992 it became clear that this quatrain was close to becoming true. The new united Germany began a program that was regarded by observers as a call for Europe to leave the influence of America. In confirmation of this, Germany and France established a joint 50,000-strong army, which apparently will act independently of NATO. These same countries demonstrate contempt for international restrictions on the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. In addition, as Nostradamus predicted in one of his quatrains, a small but increasingly active neo-Nazi movement is emerging among German youth.
