The Seven Hostages
Les sept enfans en hostage laisses,
Le tiers viendra son enfant trucider:
Deux par son fils seront d'estoc perces,
Gennes, Florence, les viendra encuser.
The seven children left as hostages,
The third will come to murder his child:
Two by his son shall be run through with the blade,
Genoa, Florence, he will come to accuse them.
THE MASTER SAYS…
This quatrain describes the fall of the United Nations in times of unrest. Someone will come to kill someone — these are harmful actions that will occur as a result of the weakening of discussion. “Two will be pierced by a hook because of his son.” When order is restored, and people begin to sort out who did what, there will be many political assassinations. But instead of killing leaders, in some countries actions will sometimes be taken against followers or their children in order to achieve what is desired. This will be a very unwise time. This will happen closer to the end of the time of unrest. “He will begin to protest against Genoa and Florence.” This describes the destruction of cultural centers. He will act against places like these, or try to “grind them to powder.” Translators thought this was connected with the seven children of Catherine de Medici. He rambles a bit here and says something incoherent. He says: “Fools! I am surrounded by fools!” He is not calling you or this carrier fools. He is speaking of the unreasonableness of unenlightened people. “Of course not. That is exactly why I need you.”
