The Two Conspirators
Le prince Arabe Mars, Sol, Venus, Lyon,
Regne d'Eglise par mer succombera:
Devers la Perse bien pres d'un million,
Bisance, Egypte, ver. serp. invadera.
The Arabian prince of Mars, Sun, Venus, Leo,
the realm of the Church by sea will succumb:
toward Persia well near a million,
Byzantium, Egypt, the very serpent will invade.
THE MASTER SAYS…
We should not be surprised that this quatrain concerns problems in the Middle East. The leaders will have different motivations for getting involved in this conflict. One leader is selfish and wants to be the center of attention. Another leader is possessed by mixed feelings. He is a fanatic, so he is fanatical about his country, but his fanaticism balances on the edge of love and hate. Sometimes, when this leader comes to his senses, he realizes that he is too obsessed, but he can do nothing about it. These two leaders will conspire to upset the balance of world powers. They will move beyond their countries and very quickly and deftly seize other territories. That is why he mentions Egypt and Byzantium: each leader will carry out his expansion in his own direction, and at the same time they will be allies. When he mentioned Byzantium, he was referring to Turkey. Istanbul (Constantinople) was built on the site of an ancient city. It is becoming increasingly obvious that when he mentions a place name in his quatrains, he often means not that city but the country in which it is located. He used astrological signs to give a brief description of the personalities of the leaders involved in the events. If one knows the temporal and astrological associations and traits of these various planets and signs, one can imagine the personality types of the different leaders.
