The Great Drought
A quarante huict degre climaterique,
A fin de Cancer si grande seicheresse:
Poisson en mer, fleuve, lac cuit, hestique,
Bearn, Bigorre par feu del en destresse.

fish in sea, river, lake cooked, left parched,

He says that this prophecy is connected with the actions and behavior of the Antichrist, but not in the dark times of his rule (discussed earlier in Century II, Quatrain 3), but in a distant phase of his dominion, and it describes events of special importance that are interconnected. Bearn and Bigorre are geographical names of the regions where the main events will unfold, but due to the fact that in the distant future the names of countries and settlements will not be exactly the same as in your time, it is quite difficult to make an exact correlation between old and new names. Nostradamus says that these events, while global in nature, will nevertheless be limited to the European continent. The complete cycle of the constellations can be divided into degree marks. The movement of a constellation by one degree corresponds to a certain period of time and a certain space-time segment on the Earth’s surface. For a correct decoding of this prophecy, it is necessary to take into account the position of the constellation Cancer in the sky, which supplies the missing parameter and also gives information about the interval of time during which this event will occur on Earth. Almost all countries will be involved in the future conflict, but it is Europe that will bear the heaviest fate.
