CENTURIA VIII · QUATRAIN LVI
The Weak Band
La bande foible le terre occupera,
Ceux de hault lieux feront horribles cris,
Le gros troppeau d'estre coin troublera,
Toute pres D. nebro descouvers les escris.
The weak band shall occupy the land,
those of the high places shall utter horrible cries,
the great herd shall be troubled at the outer corner,
very near D. nebro the writings are discovered.
THE MASTER SAYS…
I see two parts of this quatrain, and they seem not to fit together. I think I see events happening in Germany. I see an exodus from east to west. The people are taking back power, and the government is losing it. But I cannot understand what the last part of the quatrain refers to. At first impression, it is connected with the works of Lenin, but it still makes no sense. Are they not fleeing from communist Germany? Yes. I have the impression that the exodus is temporary, and that the communist government in East Germany will change, and the people will return. Yes, it is their home. Now they want to leave, but they will want to return when conditions become more favorable. Where is Edinburgh? That is another point I did not understand. I think it is in Scotland. But sometimes he uses place names to designate something else. This may also be a translation error. Edinburgh is not in the French text. It says “D. nebro.” They combined it as “Dinebero” and translated it as “Edinbro” through many strange manipulations. So it may be incorrect. Ask him if he meant Scotland. He means Germany. This may be one of his tricks, and they translated it incorrectly. “The great herd at the outer corner is alarmed. And it falls, discovered by the inscriptions.” This would mean a transition of people. This could mean that Lenin’s writings may be translated anew, re-read, or… And, as you said, it is about a change in the Communist Party. Or even literally. But you said that the Communist Party in Germany is going to change.
