CENTURIA VIII · QUATRAIN LXXIX
The Gorgon Blood
Qui par fer pere perdra nay de Nonnaire,
De Gorgon sur la sera sang perfetant,
En terre estrange fera si tant de taire,
Qui bruslera lui mesme & son enfant.
He who shall lose his father by iron, born of a Nonnaire,
upon the Gorgon will be conceiving anew in blood,
in a strange land he will do so much to keep silent,
that he will burn himself and his own child.
THE MASTER SAYS…
He says that this is a description of the Antichrist. “The one who lost his father by the sword, born in a monastery”? It symbolizes the absence of a man in the family, because his father died. He will be raised by uncles and other relatives. This is important, because it can change a person’s life. “On the blood of this Gorgon he will conceive anew.” Is not the Gorgon a monster in mythology? In Greek mythology, the Gorgon is any of three sisters: Stheno, Euryale, and the mortal Medusa, who had snakes instead of hair, and whose eyes, if looked into, turned the viewer to stone. Yes. He says that this symbolizes how he will resurrect old horrors and tortures in the process of trying to seize the world. He will renew old hostilities. “In a foreign land he will do everything to keep silent.” When he prepares to seize a country, he will act very cunningly and use much propaganda, but it will look as if it does not come from him. “The one who will burn himself and his child.” He says that the Antichrist will be so obsessed with the thirst for power to seize the world that he will not care whom he harms for it.
