Le divin mal surprendra le grand prince,

The unforeseen malady shall surprise the great prince,
a little before he will have wedded a wife:
his support & credit at one stroke shall come thin,
counsel & death, head shorn.

This quatrain has many meanings, and all of them have already manifested. The most recent concerns King Edward, who abdicated the throne to marry a divorced woman — he did not want to offend the feelings of the people. Another event indicated by the quatrain happened even earlier. The mentioned event is the most recent of those to which this quatrain applies.
