CENTURIA II · QUATRAIN LV

The Banquet Dagger

Dans le conflict le grand qui peu valloit,

A son dernier fera cas merveilleux:

Pendant qu'Hadrie verra ce qu'il falloit,

Dans le banquet pongnale l'orgueilleux.

In the conflict the great one who was worth little

at his last will perform a marvelous deed:

while Adrian sees what was needed,

during the banquet the proud one is stabbed.

THE MASTER SAYS…

He says that “the great man who is worth little” concerns a man occupying a position in government who should occupy a higher position, and this depresses him. Therefore he hatched a conspiracy to overthrow those who stand above him in the government hierarchy. “He strikes the proud with a knife,” so to speak. This man will act insidiously, very treacherously. And in this time of abundance, of feasting, he will destroy others who have surpassed him. But Adrian, who is as wise to protect himself from this man as he is wise in legislation, will clearly see the situation and correct it. Adrian exists. He says that you are familiar with research methods, but you have not researched thoroughly enough. There is a man called “Adrian, the lawgiver.” He suggests you go where you can learn about law and carefully study their library. He says that you are impenetrably stubborn. For this reason he does not want to deal with Aries. He says that, of course, Hammurabi is there, but Adrian is also there. He says that he knows what he is talking about. If he meant Hammurabi, he would have said Hammurabi. He says that he said Adrian, and, God knows, he meant Adrian. He wonders how one can confuse or find a resemblance between Hammurabi and Adrian? The fact that their names begin with the sound “ha” does not mean that they are similar. He says: “Seek Adrian.” And you continue: “Well, what about Hammurabi?” He says: “Forget about Hammurabi, seek Adrian.”

BUT THE NEXT QUATRAIN PREDICTED…
