CENTURIA II · QUATRAIN XCII
The Golden Fire
Feu couleur d'or du ciel en terre veu,
Frappe du haut nay, faict cas merveilleux:
Grand meurtre humain; prinse du grand neueu,
Morts d'expectacles, eschappe l'orgueilleux.
Fire the color of gold seen from the sky on the earth,
struck from on high, born, doing a marvelous deed:
great murder of humankind; the great nephew taken,
deaths by spectacle, the proud one escaped.
THE MASTER SAYS…
This quatrain also relates to the atomic bombing of Japan. “The nephew taken from the great” is a member of the imperial house, a young relative of the emperor. “The proud one escapes” concerns the imperial house. The United States was prudent enough not to drop the atomic bomb on Tokyo, so the emperor was not killed by the atomic explosion. He must have been very impressed by the atomic explosion. He has so many quatrains dedicated to it. If you only knew how it affected the panorama of time. He himself is surprised that he did not write thousands of quatrains on this topic alone.
