CENTURIA III · QUATRAIN LXVI
The Wrongly Accused
Le grand Baillif d'Orleans mis a mort,
Sera par un de sang vindicatif:
De mort merite ne mourra, ne par sort,
Des pieds & mains mal le faisoit captif.
The great Bailiff of Orleans, put to death,
it will be through one of vengeful blood:
he will not die a merited death, nor by fate,
by feet and hands they wrongly held him captive.
THE MASTER SAYS…
This quatrain is connected with a long-past history. It is not long-past for him: the events take place a hundred years before your time. He says that in France a military man was wrongly taken into custody because he was a Jew, and the case was called the Dreyfus affair. He used the word “bailiff” in this quatrain, pointing to a man of authority, because this man was a military man. Nostradamus shows me a picture in the black mirror: a man in military uniform. This prophecy has already been fulfilled.
