CENTURIA IV · QUATRAIN LXXXIV

The Harsh Rope

Un grand d'Auxerre mourra bien miserable,

Chasse de ceux qui soubs lui ont este:

Serre de chaines, apres d'un rude cable,

En l'an que Mars, Venus & Sol, mis en este.

A great one of Auxerre will die most miserably,

Driven out by those who have been under him:

Bound in chains, then with a harsh rope,

In the year that Mars, Venus & Sol stand in summer.

THE MASTER SAYS…

This event must occur within this decade. When he used the phrase “this summer,” he was thinking of the summer when Sirius is high in the sky. The man who will be displaced was a good leader and a good man, but a campaign was conducted against him that sullied his name. This man will be deprived of power, put in chains and, in the end, during some uprising, hanged. This is one of the minor events whose connection with the general situation over a number of years will be difficult to establish. He says that this incident is one of the small events whose connection with the time that led to the period of serious difficulties will be obvious in a few years. The name “Auxerre” refers to the region where this man comes from. He cannot name a specific place, but leads to the feeling that it is southern Europe, not far from the coast. These planets will be in conjunction on July 23, 1989. In French it does not say “conjunction” but “mis en este,” which can be literally translated as “placed in summer.” All three planets are at the beginning of the constellation Leo on July 23, 1989, and remain in that sign for about a week. Almost to the day, on July 31, 1989, it was announced that Lieutenant Colonel William Higgins had been hanged in Beirut, Lebanon by pro-Iranian Shiites in response to the detention of an influential Muslim spiritual leader. When Higgins was kidnapped in February 1988, he was leading a group of observers with UN peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon. “Driven out by those who were below him.” The French word “chasse” can also be translated as “sought or pursued.” This would fit well if it refers to the people who kidnapped him, or to the troops under him who were certainly searching for him. “Put in chains” could well refer to his year-long imprisonment before execution, when he was hanged with a “strong rope.” “Auxerre” still contained one of the riddles, as an unsolved anagram. The date did not coincide by a few days, but some experts suspected that Lieutenant Colonel Higgins may already have been dead when the videotape of his execution appeared. Such an important man indeed died “in a very miserable way,” and I am convinced that the consequences of this will still manifest. UN ships were sent to the area to prevent the killing of other hostages and hostile actions that might unfold. But after a few weeks the situation stabilized, and a difficult atmosphere of tense expectation of any surprises set in.

BUT THE NEXT QUATRAIN PREDICTED…
