CENTURIA VI · QUATRAIN LI
The New Spectacle
Peuple assemble, voir nouveau expectacle,
Princes & Rois par plusieurs assistans:
Pilliers faillir, murs, mais comme miracle
Le Roi sauve & trente des instants.
The people gathered to see a new spectacle,
Princes and Kings among many attendants:
Pillars failing, the walls, yet as if by miracle
the King is saved, and thirty in an instant.
THE MASTER SAYS…
He says that this quatrain relates to events that have not yet occurred. It will be a secular event. He is not sure whether it will be in London or New York, but it will be in a very large, majestic place, such as a hotel ballroom. Perhaps it will be the opening of a new building or something similar. There will be many people there to take part in the celebration. But the building will be architecturally unsound and will collapse. Nevertheless, those inside, especially important persons, will be able to get out. Is the expression “people gathered to see a new spectacle” connected with the important people in the ballroom? He says that it is connected with the opening ceremony, where all the people gather for the celebration. He says that there is another symbolism in this quatrain. It also relates to the political situation: the American Revolution and the establishment of democracy. And the kings and princes of the world gathered around to watch the establishment of this new system, saying that it would never work. He says that the falling columns and ceilings relate to the revolutions that took place in various other countries before the establishment of democracy. Translators thought that this relates to the moment when Hitler nearly died from a bomb. He says that the only problem with this interpretation is that not many people gathered to see the new spectacle. That is true. I think only some of his close associates were with him.
