The Grain of Sand

L'an ensuivant descouvertz par deluge,

Deux chefs esluez le premier ne tiendra:

De fuir, ombre u00e0 l'un d'eux le refuge,

Saccager case qui premier maintiendra.

The following year, discoveries through flood,

two chiefs elected, the first shall not hold:

from fleeing, to one of them the shadow is a refuge,

the house sacked that the first shall maintain.

THE MASTER SAYS…

Brenda said: “He says that this particular verse relates to what in American history is called the ‘Watergate era.’ He chuckles. He says that you know perfectly well that this is from the past. You just want more details, because you remember it quite well. He says, what if it had happened only a hundred years after his birth? It is still in the future. He is teasing you a little and making fun. He says that the two elected refer to the president and vice president. One will remain, and the other will take refuge in the shadows. The one who flees and finds a path by hiding in the shadows is the resignation of Spiro Agnew, which occurred instead of impeachment. He says that years later, when people look back at the court records, it will turn out that Spiro Agnew took upon himself most of the blame. And that Richard Nixon was able to avoid part of the blame by resigning before he could be impeached. He says that this had a profound impact on the American political system. For example, take a dam in Holland. If a grain of sand shifts to one side, part of the dam becomes vulnerable to the formation of a small hole, a weakness, and then the dam collapses. But if the grain of sand had shifted to the other side, the dam would not be so vulnerable. He says that this is one of those small things that gradually lead to serious consequences later, sometimes decades or centuries later. He says: ‘Of course.’ You are too close to it to be at all objective.”
