The Elysian Fields
De mer copies en trois parts divisees,
A la seconde les vivres failliront,
Desesperez cherchant champs Helisees,

I thought of Columbus sailing to America, of the difficulties along the way, and finally of landing ashore. This is historical past, even past for Nostradamus. He again reprimanded me for not saying that these words can have several layers of meaning. To understand the experience contained in the quatrain, the person perceiving this connection must be very receptive. There are surface meanings. There are deeper meanings. And in many cases there are several depths. Your persistence is valuable, because often there are many layers of meaning. Which, in his opinion, is the most important meaning for our time? Well, I was removing the words “spaceships” and “space contacts,” because I considered it wishful thinking. But it seems that here the sea refers to the sea of space. The huge shell surrounding this planet is truly boundless, but we can imagine it as a concentric sphere or atmosphere. It seems this is definitely connected with contact with aliens. The Elysian Fields are the fields of “eternity,” the source of eternal youth, an infinite place. This seems to be a search, perhaps the continuation of the species from a particular other solar system or planet, and Earth is one of the targets. This strangely changes my reasoning, because I always thought in the other direction, from Earth. And this is from space to Earth. Our planet is of interest to three different groups. One seems more motivated than the other two. Perhaps because for some reason they cannot return home. This looks like a desperate search. This planet may offer them what they are looking for: eternal life. A place where they can continue their species. It seems they have done considerable work to prepare the ground for their future colonization. However, another group arrives here first. This time I considered this quatrain only in a cosmic context. You spoke of colonization. And how would people living on Earth perceive this? How would they perceive it? This point of view did not take into account the reaction of people. It proceeded from the purpose of the arrival of aliens or colonists. Can he name a time frame? Is this in our future? It seems both. It is almost connected with the beginning of life on this planet, in the distant past — at the early stages of the history of the appearance of humanoid beings on Earth. This is very interesting, since I had not thought about it. But it also applies to the present time. I had two variants of reaction. I understand how this can be connected with Columbus’s ships, because they were looking for new lands. I suppose the indigenous population (Indians) could perceive them as aliens.
