This quatrain has a double meaning. The first points to the Maginot Line during World War II. He says that this will also happen during a future conflict, but not to the same degree. At the beginning of World War II, such bold behavior as the Germans demonstrated was completely unprecedented in modern history, but in the future the world will be more prepared. When the Antichrist begins his advance and bold maneuvers, the world will not be surprised and will know what to do and what to oppose. Correct. But the Antichrist will try. He will fail, partly because his fleet will be drawn to the center and east of the Mediterranean, where he will try to seize that part of Europe. And partly because the British naval base in Gibraltar will influence what happens on the Iberian Peninsula. It is true, they will not be captured, but they will be involved in the conflict.
