CENTURIA II · QUATRAIN LIII — READING B
The Avenging Plague
La grande peste de cite maritime,
Ne cessera que mort ne soit vengee
Du juste sang par pris damne sans crime,
De la grand dame par feincte n'outragee.
The great plague of the maritime city
will not cease until death be avenged
of the just blood, condemned for a price without crime,
of the great lady outraged by feint.
THE MASTER SAYS…
Nostradamus explained in the first volume that this quatrain concerns both the Black Plague that once struck London and the modern plague known as AIDS. It will spread like fire throughout the country and will engulf a large part of the population. I asked him to clarify the part where he says: “The great plague will continue to rage in the sea city until death receives vengeance through the blood of a righteous man, unlawfully seized and condemned.” He said that if he tries to explain this part, it will still be incomprehensible, but in time the meaning will become clear. I decided that he was speaking of a cure, but he said that during the epidemic the remedy will not yet be found. Death will be inevitable.
