CENTURIA II · QUATRAIN VI
The Two Stricken Cities
Aupru00e8s des portes & dedans deux citu00e9s
Seront deux fleaux onc n'apperceu un tel,
Faim dedans, peste, de fer hors gens boutu00e9s,
Crier secours au grand Dieu immortel.
Near the gates & within two cities
shall be two plagues the like never seen,
famine within, pestilence, the people driven out by iron,
crying relief to the great immortal God.
THE MASTER SAYS…
Nostradamus says that this quatrain again has multiple meanings; moreover, its translation is not entirely accurate. Nostradamus says that in this case the word “bay” should be translated not in the literal sense of the word, but as a body of water separating two large cities, one of which is London, and the other… he is trying to convey the panorama of New York. During World War II people nicknamed the Atlantic Ocean the “Big Pond.” Nostradamus merely borrowed this word from them and used it in his prophecy. In fact, here it is about the ocean. A disaster will fall upon these two great cities, which will be a consequence of testing a secret type of biological weapon, the final product of which will be a deadly agent — either a virus or a bacterium. He does not know exactly. Be that as it may, this destructive substance will eventually be released into the atmosphere of such large cities as New York and London. As a result of the genetic mutations it causes, the disease will be many-faced, which will make curing the sick impossible. As a result of this terrible epidemic, the medical care infrastructure in London and New York will be completely destroyed. The population of suburban areas, fearing infection, will bypass these cities. As a result of drivers refusing to deliver products to their destination, the food supply of the two huge megacities will be disrupted. As a result of quarantine, that is, the impossibility of leaving or entering the city, people in them will begin to swell from hunger and die in incredible numbers. There will also be a disintegration of the police, when the population, driven by unbearable hunger, begins to loot grocery stores and food shops. It will reach the point that soldiers guarding food warehouses and stores will be instructed to use weapons against people and even kill them. In the current situation, this will interfere with the normal distribution of remaining food, and then the population of both cities will literally raise their hands to heaven, praying for mercy and deliverance from torment. Translators thought that this prophecy referred to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the role of the two disasters was assigned to the two bombs dropped on these cities, while the deadly epidemic was related to radioactivity. Nostradamus says that this explanation is not bad, and yet in the quatrain he describes precisely a leak of dangerous biological material, not an atomic bomb.
