The Seven-Hour Raven
Quant la corneille sur tout de brique joincte,

When the raven upon the joined brickwork
For seven hours will do nothing but cry:
Death foretold, the statue stained with blood,
The tyrant murdered, the people praying to the Gods.

This quatrain is connected with a time of unrest and is almost entirely symbolic. The raven sitting on the tower and cawing represents the mass media and their communication satellites high above the world, broadcasting disastrous news. He also uses the tower as a symbol of sudden and possibly painful change. He uses Tarot symbolism. The raven, personifying the mass media and spreading only heavy news for seven hours, is those news commentators who sit and speculate on these world events, and they will do so during this seven-year confrontation. And they will predict the worst. The “statue stained with blood” is the United States (Statue of Liberty), which has begun actions that, figuratively speaking, have stained its hands. Thus, one aggressive general, or someone from the highest ranks, will call out a special strike force of which the population does not know. This strike force was originally intended to protect the president, vice president, or someone else from their circle. Regardless of what part of the world they are in, if something happens to them, this strike force can come to their aid. Someone will mistakenly decide that the president is in danger, although this will not correspond to reality; a strike force will be sent, which will cause a big noise and many consequences. The “ravens,” foretelling trouble, will comment on the negative aspect of the situation as a whole, but when this event occurs, for them that day will truly become a “star” day. First, they will comment on it even before the event ends, because someone will accidentally direct their plane to the president’s location, and journalists will begin to speculate about what is happening. Then, after this event occurs, they will chew on it endlessly. And at the same time, everyone will hope that the consequences will not be too serious. The mention of people praying to their Gods means that everyone will turn to the usual means of self-soothing, for example, to the belief that higher powers will arrange everything in the best way. The “killed tyrant” is an integral part of what is happening. The strike force goes to save the president because they believe he has been kidnapped or something like that. Nostradamus gives a certain image that France is going to take part in these events one way or another. The strike force, having mistakenly perceived the situation, will in the end kill an official from the president’s circle. The representative of the country where all this happens will be a member of the cabinet, prime minister, or someone else holding a fairly high post in the country’s government. But he will be killed by this strike force in the process of “saving” the president. This will happen in 1990. The tower is built of brick, which indicates that this event is the work of human hands, and not the consequence of a natural disaster, since brick is produced by people. If he wanted to characterize a natural disaster, he would indicate that the tower is made of stone, since stones are formed by nature.
