The Mixed Feelings

L'honnissement puant abhominable

Apres le faict sera felicite,

Grand excuse, pour n'estre favourable,

Qu'a paix Neptune ne sera incite.

The stinking, abominable dishonor

after the deed will be counted as happiness:

Great excuse offered for not being favorable,

That toward peace Neptune will not be entreated.

THE MASTER SAYS…

Brenda said: “He says that this quatrain relates to the dropping of the atomic bomb. He says that this was an important event, a turning point in history. Yes. He says that both President Roosevelt and President Truman had very mixed feelings about using the bomb. The only reason they considered using it was that, based on available knowledge, they believed the war in Asia would continue endlessly. And they felt that although the deaths from the bomb explosion would be very tragic, it would be even more tragic to let the war drag on and lead to the deaths of even more people on both sides in conventional fighting. He says that this relates to several things. It relates to the mixed feelings that the leaders had about the war, because it dragged on for a long time, especially among the Pacific islands.”
